Nicaragua, Republic. A Miniature of the Order of Saint John of Greytown, in 18kt Gold, c. 1860 Auction Archive reverse illustrates two women(Orden de San Juan de Nicaragua). Instituted on May 1, 1857. Constructed of 18kt Yellow Gold and multi coloured enamels, consisting of an eight pointed star with ball finials and a green enameled laurel wreath in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the central medallion bearing a star in Gold (representing a bow with crossed firing cannons) on a circular blue enameled field, with a secondary laurel wreath encircling the medallion, suspended
