It was armed with nuclear weapons

Operation Dynamo and the Battle of Britain where it became known as the 'workhorse' of the RAF

The helicopter was jointly manufactured by Aérospatiale and Westland Helicopters

It was the most heavily armed and fastest fighters at the time and was used for ground attack missions over France, being particularly good at destroying locomotives. Due to engine and manufacturing problems the aircraft was replaced by the Hawker Typhoon in 1943.
