Cast metal with red patination, Turkish made, ball finials on the tips of the star points, measuring 56. 5 mm (w) x 54 mm (h), horizontal pinback, red patination intact, small scuff mark on the reverse of the star point at 5 o'clock, extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan Mehmed V
