An Italian-German African Campaign Medal, Type II, with Ribbon Bar and Recipient Photo United Republic of consists of the Lombard Iron(Deutsch Italienische Erinnerungsmedaille an den Feldzug in Afrika mit Bandschnalle und Portrt). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original Italian issue ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of two gladiators (symbolizing Italy and Germany) grappling with a crocodile (symbolizing the United Kingdom), the reverse bearing a raised depiction of the Arco dei Fileni, flanked by a fasces and swastika, above a Savoy
